TCS to hire 50000 human resources in FY 13

The major technology and IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will hire 50000 people in Financial Year 2013. ‘….In view of good momentum, we are targeting to hire 50,000 people this year," TCS CEO and MD N Chandrasekaran said. Growth in UK market and North America is excellent and TCS will continue hiring workforces for overseas market.


"With business demand continuing to be robust, we have made 43,600 offers on campuses for trainees to join us from the second quarter of this fiscal year," TCS Executive Vice President, Head, Global Human Resources, Ajoy Mukherjee said.

TCS has 2038 lakh employees; in the fourth quarter the company has added 19,156 professionals (gross) and 11,832 employees (net) to its workforce.

In FY'12, the company has added 70,400 employees (gross), the largest ever hiring done in the history of TCS. The net addition during the fiscal stood at 39,969 people.

Depending on grades the employees will receive approximately 8% wage hike. "We are hiring employees in the US, including trainees. We will be visiting campuses in the US during the fall semester," Mukherjee said. TCS has retained high utilization rates in the fourth quarter at 80.6 per cent (excluding trainees), while that including trainees stood at 71.3 per cent.
