"The board has decided to adopt the CBSE syllabus for math and all science subjects including physics, chemistry and biology," informs GSHSEB chairman Hasmukh Adhia.
The textbooks for class IX and XI are already in printing. The CBSE syllabus for math and science subjects will also be followed in SSC and HSC boards.
"The larger aim of adopting the syllabus of the central board is to ensure that the students of the state are able to compete in the all India entrance exams for medical and engineering colleges namely Pre-Medical Test ( PMT) and All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) respectively on a level playing field. If the syllabus is uniform, they will be able to fare better," said Adhia. This step is a part of reforms adopted by GSHSEB.
