AICTE is unlikely to roll back decision on B-School Admission Test

New Delhi: AICTE – All India Council for Technical Education New Delhi not seems in any mood of taking back its decision about admission into B-Schools in India. The governing body has made clear statements couple of weeks back that admission into all private MBA colleges in the country must be done on the basis of CAT, Mat or state entrance examinations. “The AICTE has issued the directive keeping in view the judgments of the Supreme Court in various cases. The AICTE may not withdraw the directive,” a source said.

Private B-Schools sees this move as obstacle in their autonomy. The two noted groups of Private B-Schools, the Education Promotion Society of India (EPSI) and Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) have decided to challenge the AICTE’s decision.

The AICTE took this decision in interest of a litigation filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking regulation of admission and curriculum for PGDM courses.
