Engg degree comes cheaper by 10K in Karnataka
Bangalore: The state government of Karnataka decided on Thursday to slash the fees for engineering courses by 10K. The criteria would be applicable for 25pc seats out of 50pc quota seats.
"The fee will be reduced from Rs 25,000 to Rs 15,000 in all government, aided and private colleges for government quota seats during 2009-10 academic year," said Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. Students will be selected on the basis of score in Common Entrance Test CET Karnataka. Minister also informed that 100 private colleges granted permission to start courses this year. At present state colleges have capacity to absorb 5.75 lakh students in the courses.
